UCBW Local 181...

Well I am now on a bowling team! A BROADWAY bowling team with "In the Heights," to be exact :)

We are the "Underage Cousins of Bodega Workers" (if you've seen the show you'll understand) and our motto is "Free soda or we walk!"

We had our first week this Thursday night after the show and can I just say that my love for the show and my job grew 1000 times! Much of the cast showed up to watch and hang out, a few of them are actually on the team, including the star of the show, Lin! He was one of the highlights of my night, starting with when I walked over to our lanes and he came up to me and gave me a hug! We all continued to goof around all night, which made it even more fun :)

So the cast members who I was mingling with the most were of course, Rogelio and Shaun Taylor-Corbett (who is the reason the second game ROCKED), Krysta Rodriguez, Michael Balderrama, Robin de Jesus, Rickey Tripp and Lin. The others who were there were Priscilla Lopez, Janet Dacal (the two of them were talking and drinking all night and P.Lo kept smiling at me hehe) and Karen Olivo. The last 3 I listed, plus Robin, aren't on the team, but were there (I think it was for the drinks haha)...

Anyway, the first game was kind of painful for Krysta and I...we tied for the lowest score of 66...I knew getting a strike in the first frame was a bad sign...lame. The second game, however, was MUCH better! For about half of the game, Shaun and I were tied. Which of course, caused competition like no other! The words "Bring it!" were exchanged several times between us, which made us focus more and actually making us better! But in the end, I won. HAHAHA SHAUN!!! 116-111 :)

I am so excited for the rest of the season! I am so glad I don't have classes on Fridays! It was obviously meant to be :) But yeah, if you're not doing anything on Thursday night at 11:30 and want to go to Port Authority to the bowling alley, come watch us Broadway folk try and bowl! I can guarantee a good time!

.jmm.

Oh and here is a friendly reminder...(I'm 2nd from the bottom):

I'm so proud of my little girl! She's following in her Mom's footsteps by joining a bowling league (though I have to admit that hers is a lot more exciting than the one I joined - the US Govt IRS league)...
